We're fit specialists as you probably already know. So when we put our brand name to a piece of cycling equipment where fit is critical you know that its going to do the job. Tri bar fit and adjustability is critical to getting into the right aero position - and then being able to hold that position throughout the cycle phase is even more critical. That’s a tough ask for any tribar and indeeed most fall at the first hurdle.
This set of tri bars has it all. More than this they bring fantastic fit and design properties to the affordable end of the market for the very first time.
What’s so good about them?
- They are superbly constructed - Tough, very light, Superb detailing - they have that reassuring feeling of quality the moment you see them. We do like well made cycling kit!
- They have almost infinite adjustability in terms of - lengthening or shortening the extension arms. They cleverly clamp to your drops so that they can be moved forward or backward an incredible 10cm - without getting in the way anywhere. there's even an indexed scale on each extension to ensure both arms are identical lengths. Attention to detail is tremendous.
- The shape of the tribar extension is exactly specified to the needs of triathletes who want a comfortable effective aero position. The "double bend" shape of the extension bar has been proven to give the widest range of possible hand positions. This is critical to allow you to change your hand postion throughout a race - when you get tired for example - or when the terrain changes from flat to hilly. (Bars with flat extension bars or shallow S-bends are not suitable for triathlon riding for most riders in our view. The range of positions are few and comfort is very poor. Those types can be useful for Time trialling where course characteristics are often more enabling of a single unchanging position. but even then you really need to know how to use them and to have them fitted by someone who understands bio and aero dynamics. The Double-bends featured on the kinetic-One bars enable anyone to benefit from tribars instantly - without forcing you to become a slave to them.
- The clamps that connect the tribars to your drop bars are simple and ingenious. They will fit any bar whether oversized or standard by virtue of the shims supplied - so if you change bikes or want to swap between different bikes its easy. But there's more. To connect each extension to your drop bars takes only a single clamp fixing - everything stays together in a single piece. Did you know that some well known brands of tri bars arrive in as many as 7 separate pieces ... for each arm .. 14 in all and you need a degree in engineering to fit them. Not these.
- Now for the really clever bit The arm rests can be repositioned along 3 different axes so that you can get your elbow position just right. There's nothing worse than your pads being in the wrong place and not being able to do anything about it because the design won't allow it. this entirely defeats the purpose of having tribars of course. Our bars can can be easily adjusted and tweaked and are to joy to work with
- We like these bars - can you tell!!
- There's even more - in the detail. Things like torque settings being etched into the metal so the bars aren't too loose or tight. Also the elbow pads are velcro'd onto the supports and can easily be removed to clean them. There are still many brands that glue the pads onto the bars and they are either impossible to remove or make a real mess when you do. There are also end caps on both ends of the extensions. Anyone who’s ever seen an injury from unprotected bar ends know how important this is - also a regulation to compete in many events!
- Finally they are manufactured in Italy at the Ambrosio factory and carry Ambrosio's pedigree of decades of making bars, bike frames and components. Top notch finish and construction throughout.

I purchased a set of the Kinetic One Tri bars online and within 2 days had received the goods. The packaging was 1st class and therefore the contents were absolutely pristine!!
