This session is specific to users of Look Keo Pedals - or those who wish to switch to Look Keo's - the worlds leading road/triathlon pedals. We have Look keo pedals in stock for those who want to buy when visiting us for a fitting. That way you can experience the ultimate in precision fit.
The session includes our core Total Bike Fitting (for up to 2 bikes) and all the elements of our standard Shoe/Pedal/Cleat setup session (described below) with one seriously beneficial extra - The Look Keo Fit system. This is a digital system that is applied to the riders pedals which enables us to dynamically determine the riders optimal foot position and cleat position to an extremely high level of accuracy. It can also establish optimal float so that you can get the right cleat (Look offer 3 types!). This equipment is fantastic and takes the understanding of the shoe/pedal/cleat interface to the next level. This service is only available to LOOK Keo users as the technology has been developed specifically by LOOK. http://www.lookcycle.com/en/all/look-cycle/technologies/techno-keo-fit.html
Setup, calibration and use of the KEOFIT system adds about 30 minutes to the session time compared to the standard session. You You should allow 3.5 to 4 hours for the entire session. If you don't have LOOK Keo pedals we can still set your shoes/cleats up using our standard service
Once the components that make up your bike are setup as optimally as possible, through our Total Bike Fitting /Position Analysis process we can turn our attention to the vitally important area of the pedal and rider interface.
Why is this important? It is at this interface where the power generated by the rider is transmitted to the bike, revolution after revolution!. Huge and complex forces are at work at this interface and there is painfully (even shockingly) little assistance from the pedal manufacturers as to how to setup your pedals and cleats correctly.
Most riders muddle through and trial and error and habituation become the most frequent guides. Sadly this most often results in very poor positioning and the consequences of this are significant in several key areas: efficiency, power and comfort. The potential for repetitive injury is known to be large when using clipless pedals – After all it is at the pedal interface that the incredibly flexible human body becomes locked into the relatively inflexible and rigid mechanical system that is the bike.
Don’t despair!
There is a solid body of expertise focused on just this issue. In this module we will help you to determine the most effective setup for your shoes and cleats and pedals. This fitting uses the Bike Fit system developed by Paul Swift in conjunction with Dr Andy Pruitt, America's foremost authority on bike fitting. IT NOW ALSO APPLIES THE PATENTED LOOK KEOFIT SYSTEM.
This session involves setting up your shoes and cleats in terms of the following:
· Optimal Cleat fore and aft position - using the BikeFitting.com Shoe cleat adjuster
· Optimal Cleat side-to-side position - using the LOOK KEOFIT DIGITAL SYSTEM
· Cleat rotation - using the LOOK KEOFIT DIGITAL SYSTEM
- Look KEO Cleat Float Determination (using the LOOK KEOFIT DIGITAL SYSTEMwe can determine what your float requirements are and if you need Red/Grey/Black cleats)
· Forefoot tilt - Using BikeFit Systems forefoot allignment tools - We now offer cleat wedges to all customers who need them (£2.84 each) - and can fit them for free at your fitting.
· We will use our 3D video suite to show you exactly what your pedaling action looks like in real time and will discuss with you the shoe/cleat/pedal specific factors that influence how you pedal your bike.

This investigation will serve as the basis for a general discussion with you about the different types of products and services on the market aimed at cyclists. Examples include: canting of the cleat – (sometimes termed “Wedging”) and also bespoke cycling orthotics. We are totally independent and will not push any particular manufacturer’s products either!
Please note that this session is fundamentally an introduction to the subject of foot/pedal optimization. It is a highly complex and specific field and we are very clear about the boundary issues that delineate the focus and extent of the service we offer:
Choose this service if you want to receive assistance on the correct general positioning of your cleats and shoes and pedals and to have a good overview of the issues to consider in future – in terms of performance, efficiency and comfort.
Don’t choose this service if you are looking for a diagnosis of any pedaling problem, or if you are looking for treatment of an injury that you think might be related to your foot positioning. Always consult a medical specialist (GP, Sports physio, podiatrist etc) if this is you.
